Jaali Cutting

Jaali cutting is decorative lattice work — a repeating geometric or floral pattern cut all the way through a sheet of MDF, acrylic, or ACP, used as room partitions, false ceiling panels, entrance facades, garden and balcony screens, and increasingly as backdrop panels for wedding stages and event decor. It's one of the more design-heavy services we offer, since the pattern itself is doing most of the visual work — get the proportions and repeat spacing wrong and even a good pattern looks off once it's cut at full size.

We cut these on CNC router or laser depending on material and how fine the pattern detail is — a bold geometric jaali in 12mm MDF is router work, while a delicate floral pattern in thin acrylic often goes to laser for cleaner thin connecting lines that would otherwise risk snapping under a router bit.

Structural strength is the other consideration people often don't think about upfront: a jaali panel is mostly open space, so the material choice and the thickness of the remaining "lace" between cutouts both affect whether a large panel can support its own weight without sagging or needs a frame or backing to stay rigid. We flag that at the design stage, not after it's cut.
